bmw 323i camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction

My BMW(2000 74000 Km) Engine light is on and I Diagnostic the Engine the reader indicates that camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction. I guess I have to replace this Sensor.

Did anyone experince this problem if did,do you know how much is the sensor and labor it 'll cost and where exectly this sensor located?since I am new to BMW.
I just bought this one a month ago.

Any help appricated.

We replace these all the time. was it for intake cam (BMW calls it inlet), or exhaust cam? The exhaust cam is easy. It's right on the front of the head. unplug the connector, unscrew the 5 mm allen bolt and pull it out. the intake cam position sensor is on the side of the head, right next to the vanos solenoid. take out the oil filter cap, unplug and unscrew the vanos solenoid. then unscrew the 5 mm allen and pull out the sensor. this one has a wire connector which is under the intake manifold. pull out the airbox if you need to, to get your arm under there to unplug/plug in the new one. we usually charge like maybe an hour for the exhaust, and maybe 1.5 for the intake or 2.
