Hooray!! Upon the 4th time I dropped the car off to be fixed, and upon the inspection of the omnipotent "district manager", the dealership finally fixed the annoying clattering, chattering noise that was eminating from my 2 front windows.
What'd they fix? Imagine this -- they replaced the window guide. Chripes....why the hell didn't I think of that? I mean, heretofore, all I was able to get out of the dealer was the typical bullshit babble:
a. "all E46s make a similar noise after they're a couple years old" (yeah, sure, but funny how none of my buddies' make that noise....)
b. "we've done all we can" (No, you've done what you've felt like doing in order to hedge costs and placate me....)
c. "sometimes there are small imprefections on every car" (yeah, sure, on a Chevy. And ever meet a German engineer....? About the most anal, annoyingly perfectionist kind of person you'd ever wanna meet.....)
If you have a similar prob, here's the part numbers:
51-33-8-124 right front window guide
51-33-8-123 left front window guide
