I spoke with my local BMW dealer today about the 2004 330i I have on order. During the conversation she mentioned that a few weeks ago BMW NA started offering $3500 cash back if you purchase a 2003 model year 3 series. The dealership was Sears Imported auto in Minnetonka, MN.

I have never heard of BMW offering cash back on their cars and I have not confirmed this with any other dealer so I wouldn't but a great deal of faith in this, but I thought I'd throw it out for anyone who might be intrested in a 2003 3 series.

Regards,

It is very true. They do it at the end of the model year, it's basically an instant manufcturer's rebate. Several people on the forum were offered this $3,000 - $3,500 cash back deal if they took a 2003 model instead of a 2004 model.

but to get that you'll have to settle for what they have. since beggars can't be choosers, it'll be hard for you to go in and say i want the one w/ nav with this package, but not that trim.. and do a dealer trade for me.. (if you can find one that is) yoru discounts just maybe lower..

suffice to say, if you want to get middle of the road 325, in popular black or silver, your chances of netting the deal is much higher than someone wanting to get a 330i perf package w/ nav system but no sunroof. well 330i pp for that matter actually.

if you settle for what they have, and it happens to be what you were looking to get into, sweet. i envy you [cheers]

That's what I just did, but I didn't have to settle. Got my 330xi with PP, CWP and everything else but the Nav, 3500 off sticker [:D]

Tsquared,

Great deal if they have the car you are wanting...colors, options etc..
BTW it is not impossible to get $1,500 off on a 2004 and order your perfect car ???

Good luck !!!

Unfortunatly there were no 2003 RWD cars with manual transmissions available since this summer in my area. For some reason the dealers in this area don't order any cars with manuals. But they get lots of AWD cars.

As it turns out I got $1600 off my 2004, set up exactly how I wanted it so I'm not complaining...too much. [rofl]

regards,
