Hi all I was wondering if anybody has ever heard of the E30 333i I have only ever heard of it in South Africa and I also hear that it only came out in South Africa. I am also going to put a 333i motor into my E30 325i, as the 333i is just as fast as the E36 M3, but to make sure that not much can take me out on the reoad, im gonna put a Supercharger and NOS into my car.

Yes I remember an old Roundel article about M30 engines being installed in E30s. Parts were shipped from Germany and various combos were done. I believe in the eighties S Africa only assembled the cars. The manufacturing of the parts was done in Germany and the parts were shipped for assembly. This avoided the stiff import duties that were in place at that time if an entire assembled car were imported.

I saw a pic of one, the body kit looks awesome, and no I'm not talking about that blue custom 333i.
bodykit? im pretty sure the 333i only had an ordinay M-Tech I kit on it. i could be wrong tho...either way, they are a very sweet car from what i have heard, and id love to build a replica/custom one day....i know the m52 would be more practical, but im talking ol skool grunt(when i have endless amounts of money to throw at project cars that is.!)

Well I know that they did not have the M-tech wing on them they had a modified wing very similar to the one that came out on the 325i put tweaked to provide more downforce.
and I also know that on top speed it does 5km/h slower than the E36 M3, so it does have some power.

I believe Alpina made a car similar to the 333i, with a transplanted big six M30 in an E30.

I can't recall what it was called, (ie B7, C2, C3, etc.), but I am sure you can find out if you look at the Alpina sites.

The B7 was the biturbo that they made in the 5 series chassis. They also Made the biturbo B10 which was dropped in the fiver chassis. Then the B8 which was the 4 liter 8 in an e36 body, and the 5 liter V12 E30. The big sixer in the e30 chassis was called the B6 and was a 3.5, but they also created the BMW SA/Alpina 333i.
