I have a 2001 330ci and I love it but the only place I seem to be able to take it to get things fixed is the dealership. There is a dealship called TATE BMW right down the street from my house but I have come to hate them and their horrible customer service and just lack of helpfullness. I didnt purchase my car from them and I think that might be why I am not getting any help or maybe its just because im younger. Everytime I go to this place they do the minimal work required and never ever point out other things that might need repair or things that just look wrong. I just had my winshield replaced for the 2nd time and this time someone actually said that I was missing some parts of a rain censor and that it wasnt hooked up. This is after atleast 3 or 4 visits to this dealership. I would have hoped someone would have saw this and said something. Anyway, I want to find a dealer or repair shop that will take my car for a test drive and listen to my engine and just tell me whats up with my car. It runs ok now but the oil light comes on after driving it for about a month. I dont see any oil leaks and I dont know if it just uses oil or what but I guess it could be just the censor who knows... So im looking for a good bmw repair shop, not TATE I hate them, and also what books do they have that I can read to find out what my car can do and all the features it has and how to fix it myself.... Something like a Haynes manual and any other information I might need to know ... Thanks!

[thumb] Hello fellow Marlander... Might I suggest that you phone your local or the local BMWCCA club in your area and get a listing of the prefered repair shops in your area. I moved to Maryland a little over a year ago and immediately phone the local club and got a listing of the recommended Independent BMW repair shops in and around the National Capitol Region as I live just outside DC. If you can tell me which part of the state you reside in I could better recommend a good Independent. I don't do dealers since my bimmer has 159,000 plus miles. Happy Motoring... [driving2]

If you're close to Tate, then Autobahn wouldn't be too much of a stretch. Autobahn is a private repair shop that does excellent service. I have my car serviced with them. They are located at the intersection of York Road and Stevenson Road or Lane. They are absolutely awesone! And they are not too expensive.
