brake light with clutching?

First off, gotta say how much I enjoy lurking on these forums. I've learned so much in a couple years [thumb]

Heres one I haven't seen yet. Since I hade my clutch master cylinder replaced, whenever I hit my clutch, even a modest tap, my brake lights go on. They act just like the brake lights, no flickering or anything (probably confusing the hell out of anybody behind me). The only thing I can think of at the moment is maybe an exposed wire leading to the light button, completing a circuit. Any ideas?

So the brake lights come on when you hit the clutch? What happens when you hit the brake?

It sounds like the brake light sensor got switched with the clutch sensor (both under the steering column)

Funny thing is, when I hit the brake my lights go on properly too. I can't figure out how such a small sensor could get depressed by two pedals that are inches apart (why I was thinking it could be in the wiring.) And like BD said, there can't even be a spot for a sensor on the clutch... weeeird

There IS a clutch sensor, its higher up than the brake sensor. The clutch sensor is only there if you have cruise control though. Maybe the pedal assembly is loose or something?
