Brake lights out

While driving this weekend, my brake lights went out. Tail lights still work, trunk lights do not, license plate light does not, turn signals/emergency flashers do, remote trunk release does not.

I checked, and didn't see any fuses blown (although since there are over 30, I may have missed it.)

Before this happened, I was getting a trunk open light error.

Any thoughts? Open ground somewhere?

Update: I DO actually have brake lights. . .however the display still says otherwise. However, it still displays that the trunk is open and my remote trunk release does not work. (I must open the trunk with the key.)
