i thought i was being real smart..

i traded in my Nissan Skyline in Nov03 and placed an order for my new E46.
It was scheduled to arrive early february for my pickup which was perfect.

so i thought i was real smart cause i haf an 04 car but the problem is the build date says Nov03 so...when i sell the car, would the buyer say, hey look, this is an 03 car, its 1 yr older than u said it is...

and u know the rest of the jive...

You can't claim a car is a MY 03 by a build date that happens to fall in 2003. He tries that, he'll get laughed at by pretty much any seller who knows what's going on.

nobody goes by the build date, that is pure craziness. it has always been and always will go by the model year.
Yep, my 1967 Camaro (1967 was the first year for the Camaro/Firebird) was built in the 4th week of October of 1966. That does not make it a 1966 Camaro. Likewise, my 1987 BMW was built in November of 1986. Cars are labeled by the model year, not the build date.
