Ever take your car to the redline? Today we shot some videos so you know..... hope taking it to the redline ten times or so isn't too bad for it.

My car is red-lined every day, the computer will not let you red-line too long to do any damage even in the manual mode, it'll shift for you.......I like the manual mode, I like the sport mode, I don't like the drive mode......[thumb]

Slight burning smell is normal. You have some leftover cosmoline, oil drops, etc that just burns off under higher exhaust temps. If you brake hard, the pads will start to smell and sometimes even smoke (depending on the pads). Burnt rubber also stinks. Clutch will smell too if you rode it.

Do you smell it more in the engine bay with the hood open (hot exhaust, oil, other), or out of the wheel wells (brakes, tires, other)? After racing, I have most of the smell from the brakes, and some from the hot exhaust manifold area.

i remember when i first started driving a manual. if i had to hit a number of stop signs just prior to my destination i'd always smell clutch when i arrived, which was super super embarrassing. its like farting at work when no ones around, then 10 seconds later someone walks up to you.....

I think its the tires/brakes... its light and it mostly comes from the vents or if you open the door you can smell it little stronger. Personally I think it is normal but for some reason I always think its the engine's manifold belt that smokes... since I could smell it with windows closed, kinda smells like rubber and I find it hard to image my Blizzak tires smoking on a cold day.

Tell that to all of the SMG M3 owners who BMW said that their engines over revved!
[?|]

Some BMW's computers will allow an over rev in certain circumstances.

Smells like Push is trying to up his little sister's post count. I recall them saying they use each other's user names.

Or he got tired of people disregarding his opinions because of the source? [fake] [;)]

JK, Push, well, sort of . . . [rofl] [wave]

Waiting for my new Compaq Notebook to arrive by mid next week. My previous Compaq got toasted by three drops of coke... so we are sharing my other desktop.
