Hey Everyone,
This weekend, a strange smell started to fill my cabin (1991 318i). Soon after, smoke started to come out of my dash vents. I pulled over, and noticed that smoke was also coming from the vent around where the driver side wiper arm connects to the car.
This started after I tried to put the wipers on, but they didn't do, since one had become jammed under the other. I freed the wipers when I stopped, and drove home. The smoke stopped, but kind of "plastic burning" smell still comes out of the vents.
A day later, the wipers work fine at all speeds. There is no smoke. I cannot detect a smell at the outside vent, but when i turn the car on, the smell is still there. It seems like something shorted out, or is burning somewhere in there. All electronics still work great. What do you guys think??
Steve
Thanks a lot
