Burning Smell

[330i and like it]

I have a 330i with 100,000 every now and again I get a burning smell. It seems like the smell is coming from under the car. It does not seem to be coming from the engine compartment and I don't smell anything from the exhurst tips at the back of the car.
The temp guage is stead in the mid. Any ideas?

Some debris caught in the exhaust system under the car? I would take it to a place that will put it on the rack and have it inspected.
