Butterfly Valve

How do I remove that butterfly valve thingamajigger? I know it won't do much to change the sound but I still would like to remove it. Anyone know how?

The previous thread says to unplug the vacuum hose and plug it up .this should stop the valve from working if that's what you want ..

Are you talking about the butterfly valve in the throttle body?

or are you talking about the valve in the exhaust? (e36 328 for sure, not sure on e46)
