Can anyone tell me what this is?

My car seems to be leaking. Look at the bottom left of the picture just below the sensor (what is that sensor anyways?). I think it's the radiator fluid that's seeping just below that sensor and splashes all over the place. I think the hoses are ok. Does anyone know what that part is? I'm starting to think it's the thermostat housing.

Thats is your thermostat housing that is leaking/hair-line crack need to replace cost is about $55.00 for the part. As for the sensor theromstat sensor?

how many miles u have on it maybe time for a cooling system replacement like hoses, fluid, water pump, radiator cap maybe a good idea, etc.

It looks like your oil filter is leaking also.

this seems to be worse than it really is to me anyways. your coolant should not be peanut buttery colored. this is very bad. (if this is the case) this should be looked at very soon. the connector is not for any kind of sensor. your thermostat is electronically opened and closed. that is what the connection is for. but the housing definately need replaced which has the thermostat already in it.

Its a common problem on the inline 6. I suggest you replace it with the aluminum housing from BMP. Not sure if Bavauto has it.
