Can I add a double din nav system to an 1999 328i?

It looks like some came with an onboard Nav system, however I'm not so lucky. I would like to relocate the heater control to the lower empty pocket to open up the space for a double dim unit. I'm sure there is a heater control that will fit in that location as it's there by the factory if you have nav. I can fabricate any dash panel needed, however I don't know the parts I would need to free up the double din space. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm isnt there a double din located below your heater control? I know its a terrible place but im sure this would be ideal. Put double din unit where sunglass holder is. My memory is a bit fuzzy since i havent paid attention to the console on a e46 in a long long time.

Next recomendation would just be get a pop out display navi headunit.
