My 2001 automatic 325i will occasionally cut off when I am slowing down to make a turn. But it starts right back up. I have had coils and an airflow meter replaced as possible culprits to the problem. Has anyone else had this problem?

yep - my 2001 Auto 320 iSE sounds like it has the same problem. I haven't replaced anything....yet. I never thought autos would stall. Sorry have no other good news for you

I had a stalling problem with my '01 X5 back in '01. It would stall occasionally when slowing down and making a turn. It would stall in the turn.

It was fixed by a reprogramming of something as determined by the dealer under warranty. Sorry I know this doesn't really help because I don't have all the details in front of me about what they reprogrammed. After Wednesday I will have access to all the records (when the X5 gets back from the airport parking lot) and I will look it up if you are still interested.

On turns, that's a tell tail sign! It's the VANOS. You need either the fore or aft camshaft sensors replaced. Have them both replaced for about $200 of parts and 1 hour labor.
