What does your car ownership history say about you?! I'd love to see some 'automotive ownership timelines'...
I'm no shrink, but I'd say mine says "a definite lack of commitment, and sadly- better memories of past cars than past girlfriends..."
1. Sep 1992- 85 Corolla $1900- Metallic beige, no tape player, . Lasted- 7 months
2. April 1993- 93 Honda Civic Si $12,800- Black on black, pre-rice days- driven stock. Lasted
4 years!! (a record!!)
3. April 1997- 97 Audi A4 1.8T$27K- One of the first 1.8Ts on the road, Black on Black, Sports cloth seats, loved that car! Lasted- 2 years (Premature departure by Totalling in accident)
4. May 1999- 91 Mercedes 190E 2.6 $7900- Black on tan, great condition, thought I'd try something different, until the head gasket blew... Lasted 1 month
5. June 1999- '99.5 Audi 1.8T Quattro $28K- Silver on black. Loved the quattro! Lasted 3 months (sold the lease car due to leaving the country) (at no loss!!)
6. Sep 1999- 85 Mercury Grand Marquis Colony Park Wagon $600- Don't ask! Temporary car until I left the country...What a boat! Lasted- 3 months
7. Jan 2000, in UK- 2000 VW Bora (Jetta) 1.4L (75HP!!) $15K. Irish Import (?!) What a dog of a car. But hey, when gas is $5/gallon, something's gotta give. Lasted 18 months
8. June 2002 (back in USA)- 2002 VW GTI 337 $23K. My current car, will have lasted 2 YEARS! by the time the Bimmer returns to the US.
9. 2004 BMW 330Ci ZHP $44K.
