Center console cup holder

My center console cup-holder's finish is peeling off (i guess normal wear and tear). It looks awful though. Does anybody know where I can get a replacement? I've looking in many internet bmw parts sites but they don't seem to sell them? Does anybody know of a place that might sell those pieces?

Did you check your local dealer?

It's probably $30-40.

There are also some other sites on the Net that sell little storage
units that fit into the same space.

How old is your car?
I had the same problem with the cup holder and an area on the center console, I took it to the dealer and showed them the problem. They said the that was a large job replacing the console and was expensive. My reply was the car is still under warranty so I don't care how much it costs because I am not paying - replace the console.
This is a known problem to BMW.

Yeah, mine is pealing in the center too. Bummer, I'm several years out of warranty and at 142,000 miles.

Yeah, I think the moisture from sweating beverage containers start to lift the finish after a while. Mine is looking like crap these days too. I do remember coming across the above mentioned european "tray" with the sliding cover that would go in place of the cup holders. Looked nice and you could always put a cup in there and slide the lid to hold the cup. Again it limits the use to only one beverage, however the rearward cup holder is compromised by the armrest anyhow.

What year is the car? mine looks fine still and I'm at over 70k... Althought I wish I could say the same for my interior door paneling

it's a 2001, 56k miles. I guess it was also my fault for putting my cell phone on the cub holder... getting it and out could have done the damage...

That part will start pealing even if you don't use it. In my previous 325 I used to put drinks and my cell phone in it and the pealing was awful. with that experience I decided no to use it in my current 330i, it has not peal as much as the one before but it is pealing anyway.
