The center-dash twin air vents blow cold whether it is on 59F or 91F, it does not matter. It only seems to blow warm air towards your feet, this means that to keep from freezing on extended trips or to heat up the car, I have to use the windshield defroster till the cars toasty warm. If I turn off the climate controls the windows fog up, what should I do? None of the side buttons are usually pressed, and even if you direct all the air to come straight at you, it still blows cold.

Any ideas? I am curious if this is due to a defective climate control unit which will have to be ordered from Germany (that inevitably means a return trip to the dealer after a few more weeks of fun). Or perhaps worse, this is a software issue, and they reprogram it which causes it to behave worse, or makes the rear-window defroster stop working. This is eriely reminiscent of that 325i and its problems from years ago.

Happy Holidays everyone [bmwdance]

Try to unplug the remote CD changer adapter in the trunk.
Thanks for the reply, but it was actually much more simple. I forgot how to use the knob on the center dash air vent. I had it on the 3 dot blue (cold) setting, and when the SA (who didnt suggest this over the phone) came to the car, he simply changed it to the red dot setting. Problem solved, an embarassment for me. Also unfortunate that nobody on the forum suggested that being a possibility...
