i think if you hit the right odometer reset btn, if you have two that is..

cycle through to the right information, if time, then right btn will toggle it btw 12 hr/ 24 hr times. and w/ distance and what not, it should change btw metric and english.. altho that's how it is on my e46. i'd imagine the system would be similar, but then again i haven't been in an older 3s, so i can't say for sure.

on my 1989 325i i can just pop the face plate off and take the whole comp thing out and there is a switch that says 24 hour clock or 12 hour clock and it switches the temp for you. it is very easy to pop the comp out you will see how easy it is when you take the face plate off

fifthherrm - that only works on cars without an OBC. Cars with an OBC are reset like bignate says.

Average Jae - what you said only works on E46s. They are the only 3ers that have two cluster reset buttons. The computers in the E30s are not part of the gauge cluster - they are separate on the dash next to the radio.

There is a "pen hole" reset button on the computer. Press it (with a pen) and the time date etc will be able to be changed. then switch to fuel consumption (may be a different menu but i can't remember) and hit the 1000 button to cycle through Metric, US-Imperial, EU-Imperial.

Its something like that But its explained in the Cars Manual.
