bmwrocks, I've read your post on changing the foglights on 2004 3 series, but I'm still confused. Do I pull out the whole mesh thing? I can't get it to budge, and I'm scared I am going to break it. [:(] Should I just keep pulling? Did you use your hands or plyers?

Snow, I just changed mine yesterday with the HOEN Xenon-matches.... and I'll hook you up...

1. Turn the wheel all the way pointing inward (rt tire, turn left).

2. Under the spoiler, on each corner, there are two hex head bolts (7mm?), pull them out.

3. In the inner wheel well, about 12 inches up from the bottom, there is a seam. There is another 7mm? bolt, take it out.

4. Take a fingernail or small screwdriver protected with a rag and start pulling the inner wheel well towards the engine. Once you can get it started by the bottom, peel it away from the bumper wrap-around edge. Under the car, where you removed the two bolts, there is one little "tit" sticking through.. push up on it to let the inner wheel weel slide rear and inwards.

5. Slide your hand inbetween the peeled back inner wheel well and the wrap around bumper. You should be sitting facing the tire, although slightly forward. Use a light to get a visual of how the light socket is situated, then grab the "Bottom" of the bulb connector on each side, pinch, and wiggle down till it comes off.

6. Grab the bulb housing, turn 1/4 turn counter clock-wise, and rear-ward.

7. Install the new bulb, then hook up the connector.. don't worry, the connector can only go on one way. Make sure you don't touch the bulb, if you do, clean with rubbing alcohol.

Reverse you way back through the steps.... enjoy.. 10 minutes first side, 5 minutes second side.

Cool, I just got it doing it bmwrocks way. Peeled off the honeycomb around the lamp housing in front and then twisted the light socket from there. I got the lights in, but I lost most of the skin on my hand in the process. [:D] Thanks for doing that nice write up, it sounds easier on the hands.
