check engine light

i noticed the other day when i come to stop lights and such or rather when the car is idling the check engine light comes on. But as soon as i step on the gas it turns off... the car doesnt seem to be running any different, it is about time to get an oil change i doubt that would cause the check engine light to come on though any ideas would be helpful...

is the oil level on the dip stick exactly on the "full" mark?
Purhaps just your oil sensor is unserviceable?

the check engine light is a sign of improper combustion and u may need to check whether u have an air leak some where or if its an excessively rich mixture
