Clear Tail Lights are Blinding

I put in the clear light package a while back using the stock bulbs (unless the auto-shop automatically put different bulbs in without telling me). I hadn't looked at the blinkers at night until my buddy was following me and said "those bastards (rear) are fricken blinding".

Well, I took a look and they are "fricken blinding". They don't seem like they should be legal at all... The front is fine.. but the rear, damn!

Does getting the clear package and different bulbs go hand-in-hand?

I like the current look and really don't want to change the color... but they're so bright, I think I may have to.

Change your bulbs if the clear ones are too bright for you. Depending on where you live they may even be illeagal w/ clear corners. (rear or front).

Most folks go for the painted bulbs (silver painted amber or 'blue/clear' bulbs), such as Silvervisions, or along those likes, as the silver coated ones kill the egg yolk effect of ambers in clear corners.

If you like the clear/white light look and it's not a ball buster where you live (IE: illeagal, or the cops are just waiting for minor violations like this), try to get the silver painted blue/clear bulbs, they are a bit dimmer so they aren't blinding the folks around you at night, but aren't 'amber'.

Hope that helps!

If I'm not mistaken, the stock rear signal bulbs are clear, and I'm pretty sure that rear turn signals must illuminate either amber or red in pretty much every state. White-illiminating rear turn signals are sure to get unwanted attention from cops, and is rather annoying to other drivers. But the solution is simple: get amber bulbs or silver-painted amber bulbs (either DIY with high-temp silver spray paint or buy Silvervisions).

The rear turn signal bulbs are yellow. Mine are stock that way. I changed to clear bulbs myself on the front and sides. They do look a bit brighter than the yellow ones.

Check your state's vehicle code. CA says the rears have to be red or yellow (which is why I didn't change them). The fronts can be white. However, I have noticed cops staring at my car when they see my turn signals. I think they wait til I go by them to see what my rears are or something. My car is borderline legal and I think they're tryign to get me for something but they really can't.
