Color of my Bimmer

I have a 2001 BMW 330Ci and I am wondering what people in this forum think of its unusual color. Is it too weak? Too effeminate? I actually got it a number of years ago (as a certified series though, but with tons of bonus, like new wheels M-style 68- sports package, premium package, tint etc) so there is not much of a choice on its this. There are some who really liked the color while others really hated it. My gf loves it though but I'm just wondering if people think that it may be too feminine. On the road once a month or so people comment on the color of it. The other day two guys driving their 325Ci honked and asked me if this is a BMW individual package. What do you guys think? (Certainly no comparison to the M3 Laguna Seca Blue 448 and especially the one that I really like - phoenix Yellow Metallic 445 - both not available anyway for the 330Ci) Please be honest - if you say it's really ugly I can take it! [bigcry]

Thx!

Welcome to the board. It looks like Seafoam Green, nothing wrong with it either way. You should not worry about it, if you like who cares what others think! I like it.

It's not bad if you are going to Gay Pride Parade (not that there is anything wrong with that) or a Jimmy Buffet concert. [headbang] I'm just having fun, but it seems like this color would fit better in the southern regions of the USA, like Florida or California. Definitely not in Steeler country, although living in south wouldn't be bad compared to where I am.

Being brutally honest, I think it is a girl color. Any of the pastel metallic colors are more meant for the ladies I think. I think buying it used you can't be that picky with colors. So you did just fine.

Obviously you are not comfortable with the color or you wouldn't have brought it up. Right??

Ask yourself "If I ordered a new car what color would I pick and what colors would I exclude and why".

It's OK, it wouldn't cause me to take special notice or comment either way if I saw it on the street.

Now, Ford has a BILE PUKE GREEN color for the new Mustang, I drove past a dealer who had one on the lot. HIDEOUS!!

if you like it, then who cares. as long as you don't color it pink and put hello kitty all over it. [:p]

i like my imola very much, and some of my friends were bitching about how i didn't get a black or a silver one, when i first got it. but it doesn't matter. i still like my color, and love my car. it makes it unique in the sea of silver and black bimmers.

Totally agree with Big Daddy and Jason. If you like it....everyone else can go f--k themselves [;)]

In 2003 I got the new E320 in Wedgewood Blue....that almost everyone hated (of course some other weirdos like me thought it was sweet). I actually had someone come up to me in the Supermarket parking lot, and asked me how I could buy a colour like that.

Yeah, besides from painting it glittery pink, how can a metallic green be a girl's colour? You need to relax, and be confident in your masculinity...cause if you were, you wouldn't care if the car was pink...as long as you like it!!!

some of you are really just being bad and short sided........personally the only color I would choose is black and then the next choice is black and my last choice would be again "BLACK." I dont feel there are male or female colors in a car, if that colors represents Gay Pride, what does black represent, i.e. S/M, terrorism, devil worship, gothic.........you all are too funny........enjoy your car, its yours and yours alone.............

Not a 'noticeable' color. It gets lost in a sea of other lighter colored cars (Silver, Grey, Champagne, Myst, white, etc etc etc).

I initially ordered black. But, every BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Jag, Honda, Porsche, Toyota etc is black...or silver. I switched my color to Imola Red. Stands out in a crowd and definitely different. I haven't seen another Imola Red aside from M3's.

that´s fine with me. when i bought mine in steel gray my former girlfriend used to say it would be an old man´s color. like wearing a hat while driving. i didn´t care either. i like my car´s color a lot. so should you.

and whenever one makes a stupid comment about it, so what?

Well I love the car first of all.

Second I think you do to regardless of the colour.

Third, when you are on the inside and driving this amazing machine you can't see what colour it is right?

And lastly the colour doesn't change how amazing this car is to drive.

If you can afford a brand new car you can pick the colour and options but it sounds like you got a great deal.

Enjoy the ride man.

I had the same thoughts when I bought my topaz blue 330ci. I wasn't sure about the color, but it's grown on me. Put some new shoes (19's), body kit etc on it and all will be good. Enjoy the car!! [thumb]

You could say that your girlfriend bought it for you and let's you drive it, which is what I said when I bought a '89 bright blue metallic Formula Firebird. At the SCCA track they were sure I had the coolest friend anyone could ask for. Your car is a nice color in its own right so don't sweat it.
