computer inspection 1 & 2

My car says inspection 15500 when I turn the key to position 1. Does that mean I have 15500 miles to go until inspection or does it mean that I am late 15500 miles? Also the computer doesn't distinguish b/w inspection 1 or 2 does it?

You'll notice as you drive the car, the number will decrease.....thus, it means you have 15XXX till the next service.

thanks...So the computer just reads out inspection right. It wont say inspection 1 or 2???

It doesn't say which one to get......They leave that up to the BMW tech's to know what it needs.

Just a side note, depending on the year of the car i.e... 1999 and newer bimmers get an inspection every 30,000 miles, with an Oil Change indication at every 15,000 miles. Inspection I at 30,000 with Inspection II at 60,000 and so on, and so on... A good suggestion for long engine life is to change your oil or have your oil changes at mid intervals.
