I've read all the posts about ipodding my BMW - but I still don't understand it. Is it possible with my car, a 330Ci Cabriolet with Professional Nav and CD changer?

Also - I have a Motorola car kit in the car - designed for V50 I believe. Does it work with any more modern phone?

TIA

I don't think you can use the iPod adaptor because of the CD Changer - From what I remember when I got it, the dealer said it uses the same digital port on the back of the head unit... So basically only one or the other... As far as I can remember.

The iPod connector actually "replaces" the CD Changer... It's one or the other... But that's a no-brainer considering that the iPod with "thousands" of tunes easily out performs the limited 5 disc CD Changer. That's why the iPods have the ability to set up 5 different "Playlists"... because it tricks the unit into thinking that it's a "CD Changer". Currently I have well over 2000 songs on my iPod... and can travel almost 6 "Days" continuously playing a different song! All controlled by the steering wheel controls. It's wonderful!

Quite honestly... I added the iPod adaptor at the end of last year shortly after I purchased my car "new". It never had a CD Changer... I had my local BMW dealer install the adaptor. It was a bit "pricey" (labor & parts approx. $300.00)... but, even with adding the cost of the iPod, it wasn't any more than purchasing a CD Player! Also, as a side note, after buying my iPod, I took a few weeks to burn my CD's at home (approx. 300 CD's)... and then sold the CD's to a local store... the $$$ paid for the iPod! Check with your local BMW dealer with any questions... Good Luck!
