blue - try to set off your alarm, to be sure ya got it. Just keep a window down, lock it up, and stick your arm in the window. if you set off the motion alarm you have the OEM one, at least. (Who knows what you might have aftermarket if it's not a new car). If it set off the alarm, then you can just get the light routine turned on at the dealer. If it winds up you don't have the alarm (or do, and it's TOTALLY not turned on) they may try to charge you to get it running.
Oh and the clown nose will blink like the CD player in the dash does once the light routine is on.
petakos - I bought the OEM alarm and did the DIY install last month. It took me about 2 1/2 hours (taking my time) to install it. It wasn't too tough, I think my angel eyes were the most tedious thing I've done so far.. At the very worst even if you don't want to do the install, you should buy the alarm yourself from somewere online at a good price, vs what the dealer will charge. Then find someone who's good at cars and reading to follow the DIY and save you the 200-300 the dealer will wanna charge to install it themselves.
