I have friends that had them for their E36's and had nothing but praise for them. I've just never wanted one bad enough to part with $400. May be cheaper on eBay. Only downside is they render the backseat useless to passengers.

I have one, love it. You can talk on the phone, carry on a conversation without yelling, and the women love it because it doesn't blow their hair nearly as much. It also makes top down season last longer since there is less air blowing on you to make you feel cold.

I agree with Nate, the only downside is the backseat is not usable, but it removes and installs in seconds, so it's not a big deal.

Wow, Lisha, with all the stuff that has happened to you, do you really want to tempt fate by saying that??? [hihi]

funny, funny

Me and fate are walking hand in hand these days.......when I resort to wearing a hard hat with the top down, you'll know that fate has won the fight.... [hihi] besides you never know when pork and beans are going to be flying in your direction....... [clap] [clap]

Funny (and strangely related) story here. I was driving home from work last Friday afternoon... it was sunny here in Northern California so, naturally, I had the top down. I was doing about 40 in stop and go traffic on the highway when something moving above my car attracted my attention. I glanced up and saw a large hawk flying over my car -- and it was holding a huge snake in its talons -- the snake was still alive! It was squirming in the grip of the hawk and looked like it was trying to bite it anywhere it could to gain its freedom! It was amazing. Then I got really freaked that the snake was going to win the battle and be dropped INSIDE MY CAR!

Fortunately, I did have my air deflector installed, so the odds of the snake actually making it into the car dropped by 50%... then traffic slowed again and the hawk kept going (phew!). I imagined trying to impart the story to my doctor as I was being treated for rattlesnake bites received from a snake dropped inside my car by a massive bird.

I've also had bird poop on the backseat (juicy), a snuffed out (thankfully) cigarette flicked in the passenger footwell, hit in the side of the head by a misaimed lawn sprinkler and had a hangtag ripped from the rearview mirror which then traveled over my head into the backseat then passed between the two front seats and landed at my feet.

All part of the experience! [thumb]

What's a hangtag?

When I had my Mustang (convertible, too), I had my top down and a guy traveling the other way flicked a lit cigarette at me that landed in my lap [ohcrap] . By the time I stopped freaking out and got it off of me, he was long gone so I never got a plate [mad].

It sucks, but it happens. You deal with it and move on. [cheers]

I dont have an air defector, dealership said it really didnt make a difference. I guess I will have to try one. Pretty expensive option, but, might be worth it.
