I bought a Rogue Engineering strut brace for my 02 330i 4dr and it doesn't fit. The assembled brace is about 1.25 inches too long. Can someone do me a favour and measure the spacing of the strut towers on their E46 - there are three mounting bolts for the top bushing on each side just measure between the centers of the inner pair - on my car this distance is 35.5 inches. I owned my car for one year - it had 38,000 on when I bought it and it drives really well and looks straight with no sign of any damage repair anywhere.

Not to sound like I am being critical, but Dinan for instance lists different part numbers for their braces for the 330i vs like the 330ci. Make sure you got the right one. And I am sure the model with the sport package would be different.

3 Series > 330i, Ci, xi (E46) 2001-2006 (Including ZHP Performance Package) > Chassis Tuning

The way I read the Dinan listing the same brace fits all non M E46 cars but thanks for hint I do trust pretty much anything Dinan publish so it would have been very helpful to see a different number there.

I have an 04 330cic. My car has no "inner pair" of bolts. There are 3 bolts, 1 on the inside, and two on the outside closest to the fender. The spacing on my car is 36.75" from inner bolt to inner bolt. Sounds like it would fit my car!

It's unlikely that your car was in an accident and is bent. 1" is alot of damage in this area and you would see other signs. For example, the hood would not close if the towers were 1" too close together!!!!

You have the wrong strut bar.

Kirby - by the inner pair I meant one each side but thanks - I think!? I wonder where to turn to next; Rogue say it should fit; Dinan's web page suggest that all none-'M' E46 have the same strut spacing.... Both of the inner fenders are very similar near perfect condition the hood fits well. In the attached photos from the dealer the hood sits slightly low on the right side - because the close stop bumper was adjusted a little low and it does not look like that any longer - two turns to the left.
With your 1.25 inch wider spacing on a car included (along with mine) in both Dinan and Rogue fitment suitability list - there is something difficult to understand here.
The car was first registered January 2002 so definately a late 2001 manufacture perhaps there was a strut spacing change at the end of 2001?

I did some research and all of the main front body parts are the same part number on 325/330 from 2001 - 2004. I have no idea as to what is going on here...
