Could someone please tell me the correct torque to use when changing wheels? I looked in the manual and couldn't find it. It won't be long before the winter wheels and tires go on. Thanks

Typically tight as freakin possible.

I think its something like 158lb-ft, but thats pretty much "as tight as possible" without jumping on the wrench.

Torque speck's...

[wave] sidney...

Big Daddy is "right on."

I remove my wheels every several weeks to clean the inner rims on my '04 Z4.

BMW recommends the use of a torque wrench when removing/replacing the
vehicle's rims...

When in doubt ask a BMW technician [or] hit your local 'Barnes & Noble' and check
the automotive section and check in a Chilton's Manual. [thumb]

The spec was 80 lb. ft. and bmw raised it to 88 recently. I have never had a problem at 80 or 88, but I can tell you that under torqued is bad as they will back out.
