I cracked my front 18x8 MV Spoke 72 oem bmw rim going over a pot hole/bump.
It's a small crack, and it's leaking air from the dunlop sp 9000 tubeless tire. I had a tire shop put in a tube as a temp fix, until i get it repaired.

I was wondering if this is covered until the certified warranty/full maintenance of which I have both currently on my car.

If not, what are my best options?

thanks in advance!

not likely covered... your fault.

Insurance would pay, OR get it repaired at a wheel repair center.

Google that... there are many in the usa that can either sell you a used or repair yours.

Usual cost is about $100-150 per wheel depending on damage. - if it is even repairable.

OR you buy a new one.

Once a wheel is repaired, it will be weaker than new and prone to bending and cracking again if you hit more big bumps.

What I can suggest is that you put in a claim for damages to the council, as it is there responsibilty to repair damaged roads from the road taxes you pay them. That is what I am doing as my car was damaged due to road conditions. If you are gonna try this, make sure you get photo evidence of the pothole. Good luck.

Probably not a good idea to drive around in a vehicle
weighing thousands of pounds at highway speeds on
a cracked aluminum wheel.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I think your rim runs about $600, unfortunately.

I asked my dealer about this kind of warranty, and they did not offer any thing like this...

What is it called?
its called a rip off! usually since i think the dealerships can just trade the part for free, but wont' do it for you, unless you forked over few hundred in the process.

as for insurance claim, i'd call and ask. when my rims were damaged in another car as a result of a jacked up road work, i was told that i'd have to pay $500 deduct to get it fixed, since the car was in motion when it happened. not to mention premium hike later on.. ...

I had placed a order for the rim @ bmwwheels, saved $100+ then going to local dealer, and the dealership was very fast in turnaround time. There was no point of going through insurance since i have $500 decut.+ premium will go up......when I could just get the rim for $400 and change.

If you got all four rims damaged, i'd say you got no choice but go through insurance.

These bmw wheels aren't as good of a quality i expected from a BMW.
