Cracked Windshield

I discovered a crack in my windshield about 5-6" long yesterday. I contacted Starlite Auto Glass,they claim they can repair the crack for 59.90 or replace the windshield for 329.90 + taxes.They will come to my home to do the repair.Is this a good deal?They said they are able to make most cracks disappear and its guaranteed for life.

Check with your insurance company. I use State Farm and if it is repairable, they will repair it at no cost to me. If I choose to have it replaced, then I have to pay the deductible.

I've had the same problem, and they inject the crack, heat seal it and it was totally invisible. My insurance company said if I wasn't completely satisfied with the repair, they would replace the windshield without opening a separate claim...pretty reasonable, I thought....

Thanks guys,however I didnt want to get the insurance involved.I have a $500 deductable and the replacement or repairs should cost less than that, furthermore if a bug splatter on your windshield in New York and you report it to the insurance company it affects your premium.
