2004 325Ci with 8500 miles on it.

Well, I started the car today and as usual it shutters a bit as I warm it up. As I was pulling out of the parking lot, the shutter has not subsided and the light was still on.

So I drove it to BMW Northwest and they told me that one of the cylinders was misfiring. And so they arranged for a loaner through Budget.

And now I driving a new Camry.....................SIGH

What happened?[???1]

Also the MPG computer has never topped 23.7 ever since I had it, is this normal for a Septronic 325Ci?[xx(]
Depends on your driving style and if the majority of your miles are city or highway. FWIW, I average about 24 city and 28 highway with mine (330Ci with Steptronic).

I had a cylinder misfire around 800 miles. BMW said it was due to bad gas. It hasn't happened since and im 10K+.

There was another thread about this not too long ago :Engine Problem?

Good Luck!

If that is your average city/highway combined MPG then it is very good.

To get a good highway reading, I recalculate one of my average MPG settings when I get on the highway for any length of time. The upgraded OBC that comes with nav has two MPG calculators. I get 26-27 MPG on the highway according to the OBC and around 23 for combined.

I am sure you know that you should reset your MPG calculator at each fill-up to get accurate readings.

Good News, its all been worked out!

BMW Ggave me a loaner and when I came back in the evenning, the car was fixed and was cleaned inside and out!

Ok, next up, I'm still looking for the wood piece to the bottom of the Multi-function steering wheel and then maybe the cold exhaust and angle eyes......

Gees guys!!! 24, 26mpg in the city????????? Either you drive like saints or I'm totally freaked out. My 328i with 5spd automatic gets only EXACTLY 21MPG in the city and by city I mean driving 50-50 busy freeway/regular city (so not quite slow city...). I do drive quire aggressively, have to admit that [:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] Highway would get me 25 - that's it. Is that not normal??? And I'm talking true mileage - not that shown by the computer which is always higher by 1 or more.
