so i went over to my friends house tonight and i was there for about 10 minutes, and i went to start my car up and it just sputtered for 5 seconds and died. tried it again, same thing. and then it didnt even sputter, it just cranked. i know it has something to do with the fuel pump, i checked the relay, but somewhere i heard there are 2 fuel pumps. i know one of them is in the tank, but wheres the other one? which one would be the most likely to die? how do i test them??
thanks in advance.......

The second fuel pump is directly forward of the driver rear wheel. Typically, I have heard that the one in the tank dies way before the out board pump.

But I would think that there could be other items that could cause your problem. I wouldn't buy a fuel pump until I knew that it was the problem.

If I'm not mistaken, you check the fuel delivery pressure from the pump. And if you've been hearing a buzzing as the car idles, that's typically the out board pump, but that sound seems to be normal.
