Hi Everyone! You might remember my issue from earlier. Thought I had it fixed but... Remember my steering jerks when I jumped on the brakes(jerks just one time)? The dealer had replaced the control arms and bushings, the front rotors and new brakes and a steering linkage. The problem got much better for 2 weeks and now it's back! They had the BMW specialist look at it and he thought it was a glazed rotor. The deglazed the rotors and it is still the same.

NOW they want to replace the REAR rotors and brake pads and said because I have one tire that is not matching wants me to replace that tire (which is also in the back). He also let me know that I must use OEM rotors and pads or else my basic warranty won't cover this steering/brake issue. I have replaced the rear pads about 1 month ago with PBR metalmasters and I know the rear rotors are wearing thin, but can that cause the steering to jerk? ( they're claiming the hydraulics can transmit the motion.) [screwy]

One tire that doesn't match? That could be the trick right there.

As for the aftermarket pad, I'm not that familiar with that brand. I really don't think you can blame the dealer when they've gone to such lengths already to isolate the issue. Actually I'm surprised they've done so much work already. New control arms? Wow.
