Hello all. I am new to the board and just picked up an off lease 330i this week. What is the preferred way to remove the the dealer's decal from the rear of the car? Can I just heat it up with a hair dryer or is there a better method?

By the way, this decal is more of a sticker and not a badge.

Thanks in advance for all your help,

flytyer

If its a badge type decal, your procedure sounds correct. You can also use dental floss to slide underneath and peal the badge the back instead of your fingernails.

Don't forget to polish and give it a good wax after the debadging.

BMW dealers shouldn't advertise on their cars like Saturns!! I know when I got my car, I told my dealer no stickers, but they told me they would never do that. Are BMW dealers that do this in th minority? Or is it increasing?

Minority - it is NOT preferred on a lot of brands - MB, Jag, etc. license plate frame is one thing - a sticker is another! Nothing irritates me more.

You're lucky it's just a sticker. A few high end dealers here in CT use their own emblems (ususally circles with some logo) to stick onto the trunks. Obviously they think it's some kind of status symbol to indicate where you went to get ripped off.

If you bought it from a BMW dealer, make them remove it!!!!! I have never heard of them delivering a car to the customer, used or new, with a sales decal still on it.

I bought a BMW once that the dealer had attached his decal and I told them to remove it, they did and it looked great. Like Eric said tell your dealer to remove it!

Thanks guys. The decal turned out to be a lot of individual stickers that I was able to carefully (and slowly) peel off. The car looks a lot better now.

Thanks again,
