Looking to buy a dinan exhaust for the 2004 330ci. Anyone have it? Like it?

Price is high, is there any place to find one online that might be cheaper or do you jsut call the dealer and that is it? Also, does the dealer have to install it to maintain the warranty?

I am interested in upgrading my 330xi's performance with Dinan parts. I am curious to know what parts you guys have added onto your cars and if you were happy with the results? Does it really improve performance significantly? Will these parts violate my warranty?

Dinan will take over the warranty of the car, esp if you get a supercharger placed in, or anything engine related. How long have you had your car ? I suggest getting used to the car and how it performs before modding the car. Also see what you want to do with it. Dinan doesn't significantly improve how fast the car goes, it does however improve how the car handles. A cold air intake, new headers, and/or a performance exhaust helps to allow the engine to breathe easier. The easier the engine can breathe and exhale, the better performance you'll get out of it. I think that you have to get the engine managment software with the cold air intake, since it has to remap the fuel to air ratio. my .005 cents.

I agree with archang. Get used to your car first before modding it (unless this is an upgrade from a previous E46 model). Dinan is known more for providing a matching warranty than for the best increase in performance.

The only way your warranty would be violated is if BMW could prove that some "covered" failure was due to the aftermarket part installed. It would be on a failure-by-failure basis. Never would your entire warranty be blanketly violated.

i.e. If you wear out your wheel bearings because you installed some aftermarket suspension parts incorrectly, and BMW could prove this, then the wheel bearings would not be covered.

I would bet you could ask the dealership if they automatically exclude something based on previous known issues caused by some aftermarket part. They may already have predetermined exclusions.

Thanks guys! I have only had the car for 2 weeks and am still in the break-in period!! I DO need to learn the limits once i exceed 1250 miles on the engine. I was just trying to look into possibilities for mods down the road and seeking your honest opinions in the process. Thanks for the invaluable advice.
