My dealer just told me that he had to order the 6 disc CD changer on my car. he said due to my getting the NAV package I can't have the in-dash CD player! and I just get the cassette, it was something that I was not told about back in few weeks when I put my order.

Let me know if it's true ? He said I have a couple of days to make any changes.

Cheers,

Call another dealer and ask. Also, check Canada's bmw website, carsdirect, or edmunds. See if they all make you get the cd changer if you order nav.

It used to be that way even in the US, but not anymore. Here in the states you can get the in-dash CD with the nav system. Believe me, I have it.

Don't know about Canada though......

And you don't HAVE TO get the CD changer from them. You can install an aftermarket one that plays MP3s, CD-RWs, etc. for about the same price.

Same here. CD in dash with NAV. The 6-disc changer in the trunk was an option that I also opted for. But I didn't have to get it if I didn't want to. Also, I was told that the in-dash CD with NAV was a new option for 2003 M3.

Here in the States, the 6-CD changer is something you order from the dealer (usually in stock).
The CD player behind my navigation screen replaced the cassette player they used to offer. In fact, my salesguy was stunned to see it was indeed a CD player (as stated at the BMW website). Maybe it's different between models?
I have a 2004 330 ci convertible.

I'm gonna call the dealer today, sometimes if you don't stop them they put a 50" plasma TV on your car too, 'cause it's neccessary!!!<<<<<<

Don't feel too bad. I got conned into buying a year of BMW Assist because the slimeball salesguy neglected to tell me the first year was FREE.

Thank you all guys,

He just returned my phone call, and admitted that I was right, and he deleted the 6 disc cd changer!
It's always good to have friends like you guys here.

Another option that I wanted to get was the rear side airbags which he said is not gonna be available as an stand alone option, but he said he needs to get more info on this later on and he'll let me know.

MAybe it's standard now or they decided they better not have it in the back altogether.

I'm supposed to take delivery in October, I'll post some pix as soon as I get it.

Cheers,

I ordered rear airbags as a stand alone option on my car back in January of this year. I believe I paid $350 for them.

Hi P@,

You are right it's C$425 here, and when I ordered my car a month ago before going away it was still available but apparently in the new specs BMW changed it.

P.S. The kidnapping was an amazing story, so glad that you made it.
take care and always stay safe.
