Thanks, I think it's unreal that BMW has a site, that charges you to find out what could be wrong with your new '04 car, so you can then point that out to the dealer, so they can repair it. I have had my new, less than 100 mile car, in the shop 2 times, and going back Thursday for the third time for the same repair. Just think, I traded a trouble free MB CLK 430 for this.

Hey there jnx! 3 service visits,,,that is harsh. What are the problems, and what model Bimmer exactly?

I think it is odd/horrible that we would have to pay to access serice repair bulletins. To me, a logical thing would be to enter the last 7 digits of our VIN numbers, and the system could verify that we have a car under factory wrnty., instead of charging us $25.00.

A trouble free CLK 430! Trust me that was amazing luck. I have had at least 4 visits to the dealer with my 04 330cic, and I still feel better about it that with my Mercedes. The build quality, performance and looks of a new BMW are, in my opinion, far superior than a new MBZ.

Good Luck!!!!!!

Thanks, It's a 2004 330CIC. The problem started with less than 20 miles or so, while I was driving home from the selling dealer. Both outside mirrors adjust all of the way either in or out all by themselves. If I am able to see when it happens, I can move the mirror selector switch to the opposite mirror, then the one I moved from stays stationary, But in about 30 seconds, The mirror I switched to starts moving. At the first dealer visit, They Flashed the computer, which did nothing. At my Next visit, they replaced the actual mirror switch, They thought it fixed the problem, I was driving away and within 5 min. it started doing the same thing. I am very frustrated. I have an appointment {3rd visit} with the dealer again on Thursday, The service writer say's they think it is in the programming of the Computer??????? I don't know what to think, I mean this is very strange.

LOL....possessed mirrors.

I know it's frustrating (why didn't they catch this quirk before you did?), but shouldn't you base your opinion of a vehicle on something more substantive than quirky mirrors? I could see it if it was "engine needs valve job after 20 mile trip home from dealer." Not trying to make light of your frustrating situation, just trying to help you keep perspective!

Thanks, I see your point, But mine is how long has BMW been making cars, and something as goofy as this happens, and they can't figure it out. Maybe the car should come with non power mirrors. Hey, maybe I'm on to something.
