This has saved me tons of time.

About a week after i installed my new clutch and flex disk, I developed a terrible drive shaft shake. Going uphill was a night mare. Well i was driving home and i floored it in 1st gear anyway cause i was ticked about it shaking after all the work i did and my center support bearing exploded. (should have called that!) I figured i just didn't preload the support, so i went to replace it and I was able to pull out the driveshaft without romoving the exhaust. I removed all of the exhaust hangers and bolts except for all of the bolts to the headers and let it down to rest on a jack stand, pulled off all the heat shields, and removed the drive shaft. One important thing was removing the exhaust bracket attached to the transmission and i could slide the drive shaft out toward the engine on the driver's side.

This saved me tons of time because after i replaced the center bearing support and preloaded the support correctly i still had the problem. So i had to remove it again. I ordered a new drive axle becasue i found out one of my ujoints was actually bad. tommorow and 400 dollars (for rebuilt shaft) later (plus 40 for a new flex disk cause it got detroyed again) i should be back in buisness. At least I hope!

Yeah, this is exactly how the guy that replaced my clutch got the exhaust system out of the way to do the job. Those that are experienced with working on these cars don't remove the exhaust like the manual says you have to - saves quite a bit of time and headache.

hehe, i didnt remove the exhaust when i did an engine swao. all i had to take off was the 6 bolts to the headers and the hanger that attaches to the tranny. then i pulled the driveshaft off the tranny as i was pulling the engine out.
