Driver side cold air - Passenger side hot

This problem is with my 2000 323CI

On A/C, the driver side vents have cool air, but the passenger side vents blow hot air.

Can low refrigerant be the case or is something else going on? It doesn't seem to matter whether the unit is in the "auto" mode or not.

Dear Friend ,
Due to the position of the evaporator the cause is the low refrigerant.I had the same problem as many others have.
