Posting here because my roots are with the E46....
The car was really nice. The features I noticed and liked:
-- The "keyless" ignition. Push button start/stop. Very cool. With a minor upgrade you can get the full blown fob-stays-in-your-pocket routine.
-- New dash displays. Nicer and better laid out than previously. The radio was brighter and fancier.
-- Cruise control. Has an indicator that rotates around the speedo showing what speed it is set at. Also shows digitally in the dash. Nice.
-- Fully electronic turn signal switch and wiper switch. Not mechanical anymore. Took getting used to, but I liked it.
-- Cupholders moved into dashboard.
-- Improved console storage.
-- Extra power socket inside console door.
-- Aux-in port installed inside console door.
-- More roomy inside with the dash moved more forward.
-- Fuel guage has finer increments for better indications of fuel level.
-- Dual zone climate control
-- Fuel economy seemed very good. I was getting over 30 on the highway.
Car felt very solid, handled very well, also had more power.
Dealer told me there is already a 2 year waiting list for the 2007-8 M3.
