Shouldnt be any problem at all, make sure you protect that front end though. I would hate for you to get rock chips on your first long distance trip.

actually, coming down here is a nice thing for the car to do. it adds some nice freeway miles and that is good breaking in, still with already 3000 miles it will do good.

thanks for advice..what do you recommend to protect the front? or I have to go get the front protect thing that store?
The front end cover "bra" will make it a look a bit ugly, but you'll thank yourself for it. I recommend getting an OEM one from the dealer or the Colgan brand from Bavauto.com.

Let the cover sit out in the sun for a few hours before you put it on so that it can be easily stretched. Also, put a good coat of wax prior to installing it to prevent scratches.

Here is what mine looks like.

My friend travels from the bay area to southern california all the time. He swears by using a bra since you can take it off when you don't need it. Like the others said, just be careful when putting it on and takign it off otherwise you could scratch the paint.

I have noticed older cars having a 2-tone effect on the paint when the bra is removed. The part where its been protected is noticably darker and the other part of the car's is lighter. I thought about buying one but don't want to leave it on because of paint fading...

Anyone have seen this?

Usually it works the other way around, with the moisture trapped under a bra used 24-7 wreaking havoc on the paint. A bra is fine, but don't use it all of the time or leave it on when it rains/snows.

You're not suppose to leave it on any longer than necessary. I normally use it for long distance trips and take it off after I come home. Leaving it on for a long period of time also risk trapping gravel underneath that may end up scratching your paint.

I use one only for long distance travel and never leave it on when returning home. I have even removed it after getting to my destination, then putting it back on (a clean car) before returning. Make sure it fits snug and does not flap in the wind. And like mentioned before, put a good coat of wax on before applying the bra.

"alternative to the Le Bra..."

[wave]

Try checking-out a 'Colgan' car bra...

It's made with a softer material and has a 5 year warranty...

They were asking approx. $100 for the 3-series bra's...

Happy [driving] !
