E21 tranny difficulties

So my sync from 2nd to first is GONE, and i have a donor tranny but as my luck would have it, the yolk on the donor is a 4 bolt and the one for my drive shaft is a 3, they dont match SO i need a 30mm socket to get it off, no one has one with a thin enuf wall, Is there a special tool i need to get it off or something? or is this like a dealership thing only?!

I bought a 30mm and then used a grinder

to provide clearance.

Works just fine.

Are you sure yours has the speedo gear?
