Would you trust this guy? "I don't know the vin number, but you can call me and I will have it ready, right! There just seems to be a lot of detail missing, other than that major issue the car looks good.
Well not to have the vin is understandable because it dosnt have an engine or tranny, although it is right on the dash. Id say try to get it from him and it could be a good buy as long as the car was not totaled or something, or had a bent frame. But physically it looks nice and I guess thats all I would expect from a car w/o engnine or tranny. Pop a s50 in there
Thanks jrt67ss350, and Tom that is exactly what I mean. This guuy doesn't know the vin, list very little information, has plates on the car from two states, just seems suspicious to me, but I would like to have the car if everything is in order. I guess it is time for me to call the listed number!
He also says the car is being sold without an engine or tranny, but the pictured car clearly still has the engine and tranny installed. Is he going to remove the engine and transmission before selling it, or what?
The fact that he has absolutely no feedback or transactions on his ebay account doesn't help either. I find that if someone has a couple dozen or more feedbacks with close to 100% positive response you usually don't have any problem buying from or selling to them.
Just a thought.
I have emailed him asking for the vin and other information. Interestingly enough his eBay email bounces back...hmmmm.
Ben you may be right but it does not help his creditability, more so with the email bouncing and all the other things being noticed. Anyway thanks guys for all the input, I am going to wait for his relpy, if that does not work I will call the number listed.
Yes and I just got an email from him saying he will get the vin to me soon. Hmmm does that stink or what. I could have my vin in three minutes regardless of what I was doing.
Even though it does not matter now I went ahead and did a carfax on it. It checked out alright. It went from Utah to California to Nevada back to California and ending up in North Carolina last fall.
