I just took ownership of an '01 330ci Convertible. Car is beautiful, 5 speed, low miles, runs and handles beautifully. Two issues: The factory installed alarm light does not go on and the clutch seems somewhat spongy. Any suggestions? Ideas?

u might need the dealership to program it on!

Yes, your alarm may:

A - Not be programmed on.

B- On, but your clown nose light and/or corner lights are not turned on to 'blink'. This is seperate, and can be turned on by the stealership.

C- Might not have an alarm?

If you're sure it has one (or not sure, and want to see if it's activated), do this: Park your car with all the windows down, 'lock' the car to activate the alarm. Stick your arm in a window and wave it around.

Good luck!

My previous BMW ('02 325i) was like that. The alarm was not activated. The price, apparently reflected this as well, although they were happy to program it if I wanted to pay for that.

My new car ('05 330ci) has the alarm all set to go blinking light and all. And was never brought up as an extra item. Seems more like an individual dealership thing to me.
