E46 Dash Battery Symbol

Hi all,


Just wondered in anyone can help!. I have a 3 Series E46 on a T plate and I just noticed the dash battery symbol has started to come on.

This only is after the car has been standing and goes of after a few short while. I've had the battery replaced at the suggestion of a BMW dealer, but this still has not fixed this issue.

Does anyone know what error this symbol is for?

Alternator might be on it's way out.

Yeah the only thing I can think of is a bad alternator. Or perhaps a worn belt.

Id have to go with "ThatOneGuy". The alternator isnt charging, causing the battery light to come on.
