I've been having these cold start up problems and a low end grunt or shake on low rpms on acceleration. OBDII scan says misfires in three different cylinders and also general engine misfire. I replaced my own plugs at 90,000 miles, problems began mildly 125,000 miles, and I'm now at 133,000 miles. I have the same exact problem as orics in another thread where the dealer replaced a couple coils & connectors.

I was thinking about just biting the bullet and replacing ALL the engine coils, connectors and plugs. The OEM parts are $349 from Autohaus.

Here's my question for you guys. I figure if I take it to an independent (let alone a stealership) they are going to charge me at least a couple hours for diagnostics and end up replacing maybe only a coule or few coils and connectors. I'll end paying he same $349. I figure for the same money I could go ahead and have all of them replaced if I do it myself. Of course, there could be other problems at play here and just doing this may not solve my cold start & grunt issues (LOL). But I was wondering, since they wear out anyway, and this is a common problem, do you think this is a good idea?

The engine ECU (Electronic Control Unit) has six solid state "drivers" one for each spark plug, so the problem can be there too. It's a better idea to swap the coils with a friends 328i instead of buy them as a first step. [idea]

Be happy
