engine noise

[330i and like it]

Need your help. I have a 330i (2001-40k miles) I have noticed the engine makes a strange noise first thing in the morning when I put the car in gear. Once the engine warms up it stops. I am not sure what it is. It could be a belt with a slight slipping.

Any one else experience anything like this. I just would like an idea before going to the delaer.

car's just warming up is my take. My engine makes a noise but its not loud enough for me to worry about it. I think that you should take it to the dealer if you notice a difference in the way it drives. Then again, its all under warranty, so go right ahead and demand a loaner until its checked out and keep me posted.
