ENGINE SWAP 328i/330i E46

I have a 01 328i E-46 and I am thinking to change my engine to 330i. I´d like to know if the 3.3 engine has the same hardware than 2.8, I mean the same ECU, harness and sensors. Thank you guys, Fellippe

I was just thinking the same thing when i was driving around the loaner 330i. For the most part, everything should fit fine, might need to change the motor mounts though.

ECU is almost certainly different. And it has a 3.0 liter engine. There's no 3.3 model to my knowledge altho the M3 is close at 3.2

If you look at the engine compartments of the two cars side by side (as I've had a chance to), you'll see there are a number components in totally different places. I'm no mechanic, so don't take my word as authoritative, but I'm thinkin' there's gonna be a lot of work to do. Why not supercharge over going for just an extra .2 liters?
