Hi,
Does anybody here have experience with the European delivery porgram. I will probably be purchasing a 330ci in July through the program and was wondering if anybody had any comments. Also, do any of you know if the bluetooth phone system can be installed by the factory in Munich, or is it something that gets added by the dealership once the car arrives in the US?

Thanks! This forum rocks!

I know of one member couple in our club who have done it twice. Once with their E46 M3 and also with a 330i Perf Pkg car. They were part of a group from the US. They experienced no problems, had a lot of enjoyment and would do it again. They also took the opportunity to do the driving school at Nurburgring both times. The hardest part is returning to the states and waiting a month for your car.

Thanks, that sounds very encouraging. It almost seems too good to be true. A substancial saving (European invoice, all options at invoice + $1200 for the dealer), my trip to Europe is all paid for plus I get to have a car to cruise on the autobahns while in Germany. I'm actually planning to ship my car about three weeks before I return to the States. I plan to be at the Olympics this summer so hopefully I won't be needing a car while in Athens. This is so exciting, I can't wait till the summer.

Euro Delivery is a fantastic experience. I made the trip exactly a year ago. My wife, 2 teen daughters and I flew into Munich and then drove the car to Venice, Florence, Verona, Innsbruck and Oberammergau before returning to Munich for the flight home. While I have many suggestions, I think the most important thing to do is plan your driving routes and have someone act as navigator who also knows the planned routes. When you get into congested areas it's easy to miss a foreign language road sign when you are concentrating on driving your new car. Go to MapQuest and print driving directions. Pickup some Michelin European driving maps at Barnes & Knoble.

If you have any specific questions I'll be glad to help out. I've heard there is ED info at Edmunds.com but I have never checked it out.

Hehe, we definitely had a few "teenage vs. Mom and Dad" moments! Mostly when everybody was tired after a long day on foot at museums, etc. But now both of the girls tell everyone it was the best experience of their lives.

Kirby, glad to hear that your euro delivery experience was enjoyable. I remember tooling around on the autobahns in Europe in the backseat of our Mercedes when I was little and lived over there. Venice, Neuschwanstein, and London were my favorite places in Europe. I vaguely remember Innsbruck and Oberammergau. I remember that one of the two times we went to Neuschwanstein, it was very cold and it started snowing while we were up there. It was gorgeous - one of my fondest memories of Europe. I haven't been back since we moved back to the states 15 years ago. I'm dying to go back over there and see it all again.
